What you’re reading right now was created before this new site was ever published in internet world. So like you, we’re seeing this for the first time also. If something is really wrong, we will do our best to improve it.
This is going to be a very short article. We will try to get something else out to you in the next day or two. For now, this is purely experimental.
We are going to put a link to something to see if the link switch works.
Next we are going to put a link to a YouTube.
These two links were picked at random, but they are both very useful sites.
Next on the list, we’re going to see if a picture will work.
If the links work and the picture works, then we’re off to a pretty good start.
Now some business. Our comment policy has not changed. Polite, courteous, facts and opinions are all welcome. We’re all adults here, so we can talk about adult stuff, but not vulgar adult stuff. That should cover that.
We, you and I, should have more general liberties at this platform than the previous one. As a general rule we, you and I again, do not know what the future holds, but we do know we’re probably not going to enjoy the taste of it. Of course we’ll still have happy events, births, weddings, graduations, but there are going to be a plethora of sad events. Abortions, divorces and common everyday failure, these are coming, too.
We will still adhere to and support the concept of don’t get on the bus (or truck). UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.
Previously, we discussed drawing a line in the sand. There will come a day when your line will be pushed. Most of us will relocate our line a little farther back. We can’t change the past, there is no point in complaining or griping about the election. It is what it is. STOLEN. Doing the same stuff we have been doing is not working. To segregate folks here, they won, we lost. They are going to continue winning unless something unforeseen comes upon the agenda.
So, now what? Are we just going to stay in the BMW group, you know, bitch, moan and whine? Yes, we turned out in HUGE numbers in the election, but they won. STOLE. Yes, we own millions of guns. What does that mean? We’re adults, we are not children. We need to quit whining, lick our wounds, dust ourselves off, pull ourselves up, put our faces to the sun and deal with what is here and coming, which in some circles is called reality. I do not see an immediate solution on the horizon and there may not be one.
Recommendations would be appreciated here. How are we going to fix this problem? I know some will say the barrel of a gun will fix it, and it may come to that, but I sure hope not. We need adult, rational solutions. That starts with us, the individual, our immediate community, family, church, local government, county government. We need ideas, adult ideas. Put your thinking hats on. We need to fix this shit. Looking to Washington D.C., it is finished. Think local.
On a lighter side. Please comment. This platform is new to us and there are probably going to be some kinks.
We are all in this together. Let’s fix this problem.

P.S. Get your garden ready. There is probably going to be a seed shortage, order now. There are shortages of several items and it’s not going to get better. Grow what you eat. Prepare for the unthinkable to happen. Get right with your family, your neighbors, and get right with God.
Thoughts From Frank & Fern 
Hi there! Just stumbled across this blog today and cannot stop reading. I love every post so far, and though it seems we are a bit behind you in age, our family definitely sees life from your angle. I have been thinking a lot about how to resolve problems within our current political/social climate. First, I think we all must get involved in local politics, whether we want to or not. I also believe we must address the problems in the church today. I think people are trying to rediscover gender, sexuality, and spirituality because they are looking for Jesus. People are searching, but the church is not giving them what they need anymore and that has to change WITHOUT changing/undermining/veering away from the Gospel. I think we have to (somehow and I don’t have an answer) re-take our information systems and help people to stop looking to main stream media for answers/information. I have felt hopeful of late because people that never seemed to be interested in my way of thinking before now ask me questions about all kinds of things like: prepping, parenting, Jesus, and homesteading, to name a few. I re-started my old blog this year as well so as to dress those issues. Well, those are just a few of my thoughts for you. I will now be reading all the archived blogs and everything you have here. Congratulations on your move. I was going to say that deplatforming at the other place was a substantial risk. It’s still present here, if not to the same degree. Offline backups are a good plan for anything you want (I need to do this for my own blog).
On the situation we have now, your approach seems best–we are where we are; it’s sad; there’s no political fix. The path going forward is to focus on what you can do directly to improve your situation. That will preserve as many options as possible. Producing food you like at home is the best insurance to maintain flexibility there. Very few can do 100%, but more is better, even if it doesn’t seem to make economic sense right now. I probably can’t produce chicken and cucumbers as cheaply as I can buy them at the moment, all inputs considered, but if I do them, I know they’ll be there when things change.
I do back up the blog from time to time, North Georgia. I did the same at Blogger. It was recommended by someone years ago when we first started since they lost their blog somehow and had to rebuild it from scratch.
We keep watching the prices go up and up, on everything. The higher price of oil is great for the industry and those that are employed there. It feeds their families and puts shoes on the kids feet. At the same time, the price of everything else goes up since either through production or transportation, all are affected by the price of oil. Thus inflation. I don’t see any end to that. We look at the prices of some things we have bought in the last few years and are amazed at the increase in prices.
When it comes to food, I would much rather put in the time and effort to produce and preserve. I told Frank I hope I don’t have to physically depend on a different food source in my old age. I just don’t look at commercial products with the same trust at quality and nutrition the way I used to. Not to mention all of the fake meat, GMO, cloning, fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides that are becoming more commonplace everyday.

I would love to talk to others, but the fact that anyone reading the comments can look up my name and address makes me hesitant to do so. I am much more open here with like-minded people than I am with people I know. OPSEC is important to me. Am I overthinking this? Is this something to be concerned about? Frank and Fern, what do you think?

Should I make my call sign public or keep it private? As you are aware Frank & Fern are pseudonyms, we live in southeastern Oklahoma, we have an email address on this blog. That is as public as I choose to go. Here is the reason why, except I’m going to do it in your case.
Let’s take your name, Prepared Grammy. The word prepared would indicate that you have food stored, water, weapons, ammunition, medicine, medical provisions, and the list goes on and on. The second part of your name tells readers that you are a female, let’s say 40 years in age or older. The name Prepared Grammy tells people a lot about you.
Since I don’t know your call sign, then I don’t know whether you have a PO Box or a physical address. But if I did know your call sign, I would know your zip code. If you had a physical address I would be able to look on Google maps and pinpoint your house. I would know exactly where you live.
In the little community where I live there are folks that know where we live, our names, what we do and some of them read the blog. That’s just the way it is. But these people know us already. We talk goats, chickens and gardens with these people, they are our neighbors. Some folks that are relatives live a good distance away, but they are our relatives and of course, they know who we are.
Whether you post your call sign or not is up to you. My recommendation? I would not do it. There are bad, evil people in this world and your name, Prepared Grammy, tells people a lot about you. This is just my opinion. There are many people in the amateur radio world that would promptly disagree with my opinion.

We have always enjoyed the interaction with others out there in internet world. New adventures, even digital cyber ones, can be good for the mind. We hope to never quit learning.
We have discovered the Things To Read pages listed on the right hand column are linked to the articles in the old blog. I don’t know if that blog will disappear from the internet one day, but if it does, it only affects those links. The links listed here in the archive section go to articles here on this blog. Sorry if that is confusing. As we write new articles and add them to the pages, the links will be found here. It is too much to go back and re-link all of those older articles, so that is one thing that will stay as is in the move to this new home.

Don’t know if I’ve said it here before or not, but this whole debacle has really brought it home to me how important it is to pay attention to local politics, where we may have more of a chance of being heard/ affecting change. For example, how does our elected sheriff view gun/ammo registration and confiscation legislation being put forth in Congress right now? How about the local elected judges?
Let me just say that I am NOT a fan of being suddenly declared a criminal for trying to live by what’s Constitutional and right. I am also not a fan of the current atmosphere of wondering if your neighbors will turn you in to the authorities because you are not acting in the current politically correct manner (e.g. got someone’s pronoun of the day incorrect or otherwise accidentally stepped on their toes).
Glad to see that you are maintaining an Internet presence. I am a longtime reader, but seldom commented in the past, trying to keep a grey facade. Haven’t ended up where I wanted to be. Time for change?
Thanks as ever for staying on the internet. So far, easy change for me. Figured out how to get into comments and post. All the pictures worked. Will try the links next. Already have received two orders for my seeds – one at Christmas time and one two weeks ago. Some seeds weren’t available yet from my favorite vendor but are now as of last night.
